Views of a Viewer

Time has came that all those non sense crap media is showing is gettint on to nerves of many. And I would not dent the fact that I am also one of them. It is like everytime something happens of a size of an ANT media plays some magical words on it and turn that into a big GIGANTIC dinosaur. It is not for the first time that media has misused it's power to boast baseless stories and had build up skyscraper on a void allegations. There work is to make everyone aware of what is going on in this world and how the change can be useful to us. But rather than bringing positive news like successful flight of TEJAS LSP-3 which can make others aware of the development our own nation is doing and can make there facts n figures clear enough so that they can talk to an outsider guy with full confidence , media brings news like things happening behind the scene in IPL and what is happening with the daily soaps. I wonder what such things can do good to a child studying in his junior high school and is asked to be update to current affairs. What the media eyes now is GLAMOR and FAME. They look or rather say cook news in order to catch the eye of audience and it is rather shocking that some of us do believe there baseless talks and start speculating those who we use to support for good work done in past. Why is it that our point of view changes just like that only??? Why do we behave like puppets who are directed to hate or love, criticize or appreciate someone???
Mass Media denotes to a particular section of media specifically designed to reach large audience. One of its branch Journalism is the discipline of collecting, analyzing, verifying and presenting information regarding current events, trends, issues and people. But think for a second and analyze by yourself that is it all happening or there is something in between which is missing. Ya they do collect the piece of news, analyze it and then comes there main role in making it more spicy and adding up indegrents that will make a current affair " EYE CANDY" for audience. What kind of journalism is this?? Do they verify the information before broadcasting it. In my opinion " according to there need". I know many might not agree with this write up but what i felt was happening for past few days and what can it become in coming future is something dangerous not only for those who are been speculated but for all those keeping an eye over it . Because at the end everything will be forgotten just like what happen with every spiced up news and all of those with there interest will be left wandering what happened. I am no one to raise such thing on a public blog but there is something which need to be rectify and that is FIRST our NEWS MEDIA.

Plans just dont work 4 me

Crowd at Old Delhi Food Festival, Dilli haat
Past weekend was one of those dayz when what we plan never happens and what happen is purely random. One of those time was when I read an advertisment of " Old Delhi food festival" held at Dilli Hatt last weekend. We guys are pretty fond of food that need not be mention as we can go anywhere to try new things . It was a good option for a get together where all us could have met n enjoyed food. But as mentioned earlier nothing works according to plan. Some guys didn't show up, some had there other plans at same place, same were unwilling to beat the scorching heat of Delhi and the rest left were just four of us. But numbers are not significant as what we need is company and that we had. Reached delhi haat in tym and crowd was quite good and classy. No one seemed to be worry about the temperature which was around 37 at night. Pretty shops of handicraft, kids with there toys made up of wood with a tiny drum like sound and local vendors playing Ik tara.
Atmosphere was good and exuberant. But what we came for and what we were looking was not in sight. Our hungry stomach and more than that minds which were imagining those delicacies read in newspaper were in search for them. And finally we sighted a cluster of humans with a very high density of crowd as compared to whole Dilli haat. " There it is......"
Bedmi poori, dahi bhalla, matar kulchas, gyani kulfi, chaat n papdi all were lined up on left. The names can itself make your mouth waters. And those were not alone with Parantha waala from Chandni Chowk with his stall too was attracting majority. But we were looking for special Mughlai non-vegetarian food which was on the right hand side of the courtyard, and that place was even more crowded and we really struggled to made our way through the rush and that too in not very cool climate :( But some how we made our way to counter and ordered Chicken biryani, mutton nahari and chicken fry..... And one thing what was noticed very instantly was that dishes were quite over rated. Now as we ordered them so we had them and there taste toow asn't all that special. We could hav got all those things in price half of that what it was and that tooo in more quantity. What I wondered was that why the rest of people were still sustaining with that. So as per the verdict " The food was over rated and not all that delicious".
But one thing that happened after that was we had our change of minds and randomly we went to Darya Ganj and enjoyed Chicken changezi and fried chicken. So what learnt from this was never plan anything , things happen randomly and brings sense of joy wid dem

Chetan's speech at symbi.......

One of the most inspiring words I have read ever........

Good Morning everyone and thank you for giving me this chance to speak to you. This day is about you. You, who have come to this college, leaving the comfort of your homes (or in some cases discomfort), to become something in your life. I am sure you are excited. There are few days in human life when one is truly elated. The first day in college is one of them. When you were getting ready today, you felt a tingling in your stomach. What would the auditorium be like, what would the teachers be like, who are my new classmates – there is so much to be curious about. I call this excitement, the spark within you that makes you feel truly alive today. Today I am going to talk about keeping the spark shining. Or to put it another way, how to be happy most, if not all the time.

Where do these sparks start? I think we are born with them. My 3-year old twin boys have a million sparks. A little Spiderman toy can make them jump on the bed. They get thrills from creaky swings in the park. A story from daddy gets them excited. They do a daily countdown for birthday party – several months in advance – just for the day they will cut their own birthday cake.

I see students like you, and I still see some sparks. But when I see older people, the spark is difficult to find. That means as we age, the spark fades. People whose spark has faded too much are dull, dejected, aimless and bitter. Remember Kareena in the first half of Jab We Met vs the second half? That is what happens when the spark is lost. So how to save the spark?

Imagine the spark to be a lamp’s flame. The first aspect is nurturing – to give your spark the fuel, continuously. The second is to guard against storms.

To nurture, always have goals. It is human nature to strive, improve and achieve full potential. In fact, that is success. It is what is possible for you. It isn’t any external measure – a certain cost to company pay package, a particular car or house.

Most of us are from middle class families. To us, having material landmarks is success and rightly so. When you have grown up where money constraints force everyday choices, financial freedom is a big achievement. But it isn’t the purpose of life. If that was the case, Mr. Ambani would not show up for work. Shah Rukh Khan would stay at home and not dance anymore. Steve Jobs won’t be working hard to make a better iPhone, as he sold Pixar for billions of dollars already. Why do they do it? What makes them come to work everyday? They do it because it makes them happy. They do it because it makes them feel alive Just getting better from current levels feels good. If you study hard, you can improve your rank. If you make an effort to interact with people, you will do better in interviews. If you practice, your cricket will get better. You may also know that you cannot become Tendulkar, yet. But you can get to the next level. Striving for that next level is important.

Nature designed with a random set of genes and circumstances in which we were born. To be happy, we have to accept it and make the most of nature’s design. Are you? Goals will help you do that. I must add, don’t just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful. Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

You must have read some quotes – Life is a tough race, it is a marathon or whatever. No, from what I have seen so far, life is one of those races in nursery school, where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One last thing about nurturing the spark – don’t take life seriously. One of my yoga teachers used to make students laugh during classes. One student asked him if these jokes would take away something from the yoga practice. The teacher said – don’t be serious, be sincere. This quote has defined my work ever since. Whether its my writing, my job, my relationships or any of my goals. I get thousands of opinions on my writing everyday. There is heaps of praise, there is intense criticism. If I take it all seriously, how will I write? Or rather, how will I live? Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up? It’s ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, fall in love. We are people, not programmed devices.

I’ve told you three things – reasonable goals, balance and not taking it too seriously that will nurture the spark. However, there are four storms in life that will threaten to completely put out the flame. These must be guarded against. These are disappointment, frustration, unfairness and loneliness of purpose.

Disappointment will come when your effort does not give you the expected return. If things don’t go as planned or if you face failure. Failure is extremely difficult to handle, but those that do come out stronger. What did this failure teach me? is the question you will need to ask. You will feel miserable. You will want to quit, like I wanted to when nine publishers rejected my first book. Some IITians kill themselves over low grades – how silly is that? But that is how much failure can hurt you. But it’s life. If challenges could always be overcome, they would cease to be a challenge. And remember – if you are failing at something, that means you are at your limit or potential. And that’s where you want to be.

Disappointment’ s cousin is Frustration, the second storm. Have you ever been frustrated? It happens when things are stuck. This is especially relevant in India. From traffic jams to getting that job you deserve, sometimes things take so long that you don’t know if you chose the right goal. After books, I set the goal of writing for Bollywood, as I thought they needed writers. I am called extremely lucky, but it took me five years to get close to a release. Frustration saps excitement, and turns your initial energy into something negative, making you a bitter person. How did I deal with it? A realistic assessment of the time involved – movies take a long time to make even though they are watched quickly, seeking a certain enjoyment in the process rather than the end result – at least I was learning how to write scripts, having a side plan – I had my third book to write and even something as simple as pleasurable distractions in your life – friends, food, travel can help you overcome it. Remember, nothing is to be taken seriously. Frustration is a sign somewhere, you took it too seriously.

Unfairness – this is hardest to deal with, but unfortunately that is how our country works. People with connections, rich dads, beautiful faces, pedigree find it easier to make it – not just in Bollywood, but everywhere. And sometimes it is just plain luck. There are so few opportunities in India, so many stars need to be aligned for you to make it happen. Merit and hard work is not always linked to achievement in the short term, but the long term correlation is high, and ultimately things do work out. Butrealize, there will be some people luckier than you. In fact, to have an opportunity to go to college and understand this speech in English means you are pretty damm lucky by Indian standards. Let’s be grateful for what we have and get the strength to accept what we don’t. I have so much love from my readers that other writers cannot even imagine it. However, I don’t get literary praise. It’s ok. I don’t look like Aishwarya Rai, but I have two boys who I think are more beautiful than her. It’s ok. Don’t let unfairness kill your spark.

Finally, the last point that can kill your spark is Isolation. As you grow older you will realize you are unique. When you are little, all kids want Ice cream and Spiderman. As you grow older to college, you still are a lot like your friends. But ten years later and you realize you are unique. What you want, what you believe in, what makes you feel, may be different from even the people closest to you. This can create conflict as your goals may not match with others. And you may drop some of them. Basketball captains in college invariably stop playing basketball by the time they have their second child. They give up something that meant so much to them. They do it for their family. But in doing that, the spark dies. Never, ever make that compromise. Love yourself first, and then others.

There you go. I’ve told you the four thunderstorms – disappointment, frustration, unfairness and isolation. You cannot avoid them, as like the monsoon they will come into your life at regular intervals. You just need to keep the raincoat handy to not let the spark die.

I welcome you again to the most wonderful years of your life. If someone gave me the choice to go back in time, I will surely choose college. But I also hope that ten years later as well, your eyes will shine the same way as they do today. That you will Keep the Spark alive, not only through college, but through the next 2,500 weekends. And I hope not just you, but my whole country will keep that spark alive, as we really need it now more than any moment in history. And there is something cool about saying – I come from the land of a billion sparks.

Thank You.

Bakar

Haan yaad hai mujhe
jab hum mile the uss ped ke neeche
dosti toh door ki baat gaali dete the muh pe
Chutiya bulaaya kabhi gaandu se taareef ki teri
gaali toh naam ka hissa ban gyi thi apni
par aaj jab hum door hain
raahein alag thaame
yaad aata hai woh pal jaan-e anjaane
bakar karne ke liye bande ho kam
kya kahoge isse aaye dost..............Yahi milenge HUM

baat tab ki bhi yaad ahi
harijan mkt mein patte lene ka safar
naye the dono ek doosre ke liye
but thami nhiii thiii na teri na Hi meri BAKAR
samajh mein aa chuka tha tere dimaag ka keeda
frequancy bhi tuned same thii apni
ho chahe bilkul alag nature tera
but tasveer toh FRAME thii apni( bhagwaan hai na teesra dost apna)
ab u going the way jahan mera aana aasan nhiii
Fir Ilzaam na dena ke bhai karan BAKAR kyon thamii

tu lambu kaise door reh sakta hai
characteristic toh bilkul ohm's law ki tarah idle hain tere
agar kal hi chaye toh
kisi ka dulha ban sakta hai
bolta tu kam tha
But jab bhi bola AAWAz mein mast doegar jitta dum tha
ek hi pankti kaafi hoti

saale kat liya tu mallu pradesh mein akele
ban na tha electronics mein EINSTEIN
n raah pe chal pade Bill GAtes ke chele
Koi na mere dost BHarosa hai
tu legacy maintain karega apni

Thums up woh bhi chilled peete the hum
andaaz apna apna aur GOGO ke sahare jeete the hum
CID ne bhi bakar mein diyaa poorn yogdaan
mil kar kia rancho ko pareshaan
jab lega uska puttar humaari jaan tab bhi yahi kahenge
" HUMARI BAKAR MAHAAN"

rancho teko yaha mention kare bina kaise jee sakta hun
jitti laal teri humne kii uska kuch hissa isse see sakta hun
Abu ke den tha tera naya andaaz
baat ka ata pta na bhi ho
par bolna toh banta hai bosss
maths ko kehta tha fav but funde clear nhi the iske

Dont take PANGA or else take it u'll remember it for long time

U can say it was a kind of reunion when 5 friends from Amit's cab met after a very long time at a random place. Scene was intially to meet at well known AL BAKE's barch in tilak nagar but if you are regular reader of blogs written by me then u must have been knowing that things never happen like i think. We went there n everything was finished. " saab jii veg roll ahi khaane ko bas" (one veg roll for serving) . Then began the search to find a place to have food n spend time. Sumit came up with kohli and Ashish with Chawla..........we were still lukin n thn all of us were eye locked to a dhaaba type restaurant with three big what would u call a gigantic saucers. " Yahi khaayenge ab toh".
And it was decided the menu card sounded pretty regular with afghani n tandoori on top of snacks list and butter chicken and tawa chicken as usual. But there was sumthng unusual too which caught our eyes " Tandoori chicken panga". " We want this" ordered by us, in reply the man at counter said " Sir khaa nhi paaoge, thoda spicy hai "(won't be able to eat, bit spicy)......."koi baat nhi yaar hum toh ab PANGA hi lenge"( we will hav this only) we ordered him wid full confidence...but he still tried to convince us that it will be spicy for you .....hehehe it was funny as if we are having a cigarette and just like the statuary warning on the pack he was repeating his words. But just like a smoker hardly looking at the pack irrespective of its aftereffects we ordered Panga . After a wait for about 15 mins a waiter arrives with three plates full of chicken n was looking quite plentiful for guys who were there having this after the regular dinner at home .
I was the one to try it first and the moment i took the first bite an invisible smoke from my ears and uncontrollable flow of tears from my eyes started flowing. Man that guy warned and still we are eating this. one by one everyone was crying neither out of sadness not from happiness but from the spice that were marinated over that grilled chicken. It was soooooooo spicy sooo spicy that nothing could neutralize its taste. although we had chilled thums up n coke at the table which was barely balancing cos of rancho's regular efforts to distract us from beating the shit out of his enjoyable action of events he does every now and then.
Rating: tandoori Chicken PANGA at Kohli Chicken jail road 4/5 and its tawa chicken 3.5/5 and if u hav a guy like our very own most loved friend with you than make those 10 out of 5 :P .

Tears wont dry neither i'll cry

Tears roll down the cheeks
no one to stop
consolation comes from every where
they are just words, they wont crop

frenz want us to keep smiling
n make the world happy n rhyming
wat happens is that tears prevail
creeping down slowly like a Snail

love is one reason which lets some live
N it too kills.....
this wont be hard to belive
people are all around saying we are there
eyes do search for those who really care

It is an inspirational work n credit goes to one of my friend whom i haven't seen yet : Chhavi Garg

party or the broker

" Ma'am if u ask for an advice, instead of kadhai chicken you sh for our specialty butter chicken......bit creamy n less spicy n yesss it will not trouble u 2moro morning...(giggle)", This was the first thing I heard just as i stepped into SETHI restaurant at PAHAR GANJ. I saw sumthng familiar in that guy who was taking orders n giving his precious words of advice to foreigners out for late night dinner ." Yes he's the one.....Varun did u recognize him.....aap party hai ya broker abe wahiii .............he was in khosla ka ghosla n oye lucky tooo the reporter". Varun on other hand" Aap actor hai yaaa Junior artist.........hahhahahahahha". Then he came to us n asked for order n said" Haan haan main wahi hun yaar ." "One chicken curry n mutton keemawala wid roti karaari " I ordered. "Oye punjabi haan assi roti te kraari hi khaawange" he replied. That was the way an eventful day of mine ended. I mentioned this first because more than a Delhi win which was almost certain this one was only unexpected thing. Food there was good at least u can have something to eat in 12 at midnight with good knowledge of flavor. Chicken curry is there's specialty n yaa tandoori chicken tooo although we didn't tried that but from the past experiences it was worth a try.
